GAUGE:
18 sts + 26 rnds = 4 in. (10 cm) in St st worked in the rnd (k every rnd), using larger needles When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles. Making a Gauge Swatch
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.

STITCH EXPLANATION:
kfb (knit into front and then back) An increase worked as follows: 1.

Knit the next st through the front loop, but do not remove the st from your left hand needle.

2.

Knit the same st once more, this time inserting your needle through the back loop of the st.

You will have created 2 loops (sts) on your right hand needle.

3.

Drop the st from your left hand needle - you have increased 1 st.

pfb (purl into front and then back) An increase worked as follows: 1.

Purl the next st through the front loop, but do not remove the st from your left hand needle.

PATTERN STITCH K1, p1 Rib worked in the rnd (multiple of 2 sts) Rnd 1: *K1, p1; rep from * to around.

Rep Rnd 1 for K1, p1 Rib worked in the rnd.

NOTES:
1.

Pullover is worked in one piece from neck down.

A smaller circular needle is used for the neck and yoke (upper portion of the Pullover) to create a slightly firmer knit fabric.

2.

At the underarms, sts are placed on holders for sleeves, then the body is continued in one piece.

3.

When body has been completed, sts are picked up for the sleeves, then sleeves are worked in the rnd down to lower edge.

Sleeves are designed to end a few inches (cm's) above wrist.

If desired, continue in St st to make longer Sleeves.

4.

The lower edges are designed to roll softly.

5.

The stitch pattern in yoke has been modified for larger sizes, and will vary slightly from the photograph.
