On Rows 3 and 9 of the Pod Stitch pattern, a k5tog is called for. The k5tog decreases 4 sts and looks quite nice in this design.
If you find it difficult to work this decrease, there are a couple of alternatives that you can work in place of the k5tog:
Slip 2 sts together, as if to knit, from left needle to right needle, k next 3 sts together, pass the 2 slipped sts over the k3tog. Insert a crochet hook through the 5 sts on the left needle, then use the hook to pull the yarn through the sts.The above is only a summary of corrections; the corrected pattern text is below (if free) or shipped upon completion of order (if purchased)

12.5 sts = about 4 in. (10 cm) in Pod Stitch. EXACT GAUGE IS NOT ESSENTIAL FOR THIS PROJECT. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
Making a Gauge Swatch
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.

Join by working the first st on left hand needle with the working yarn from the right hand needle and being careful not to twist sts.
