Additional Materials
Scrap yarn
16 stitches = about 4 in. (10 cm) When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles. Making a Gauge Swatch
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.

1. Follow loom manual instructions on DOUBLE KNITTING for how to cast on, knit, change color, and bind off.
2. To create a ribbed fabric, after the first row of knitting, the loom is laced differently than described in the loom manual.

Follow diagram provided for instructions on how to lace loom for ribbed knitting.

Loom Configuration
Use the following pieces: (2) 36-hole pieces and (2) U-shaped pieces.

Connect pieces to form a rectangle as follows: 36-hole piece > U-shaped piece > 36-hole piece > U-shaped piece.
