JEWELRY MAKING SUPPLIES AND MATERIALS One 4 in. (10 cm) round plastic canvas circle One 18 in. (45.5 cm) gold chain Two 1/4 in. (0.5 cm) jump rings Flat nose pliers for jewelry making Sharp scissors


NECKLACE RINGWith sharp scissors, cut around 8th ring from canvas center (photo #2).

Trim outside edge of canvas to create a smooth edge (photo #3).

Cut around 6th ring from canvas center, keeping close to the right hand side for a smooth edge.

Trim any uneven inner edges.

Cover Inner Edge of RingThread blunt needle with A and whipstitch around inner Ring, inserting needle through holes in Ring (see photo #4).

To end off, insert needle under whipstitches on wrong side of Ring to conceal yarn end.

Fill-In Ring Center Thread blunt needle with B.Insert needle from wrong side through one of the holes in Ring.

Re-insert needle from right side down, through the hole that is 26 holes away, and pull yarn tight (photo #5).

Continue working clockwise as established, crossing over Ring center and inserting threaded needle into next available hole (photos #6 and #7).

Tie a double knot and cut yarn after all holes have been filled.

Cover Outer Edge of RingThread blunt needle with A and whipstitch around outer Ring (photo #8).

To end off, hide yarn tail on wrong side of Ring.

Thread blunt needle with A and work running stitch around Ring to hide any remaining 'spokes' as follows: Insert needle into one hole and then re-insert needle into another hole 2 spaces away.

Continue as established, inserting needle into holes, covering two spaces at a time, until all spokes have been covered (photos #9, #10 and #11).

Cut yarn and hide yarn tail under whipstitches.

FINISHINGAttach jump rings to wheel as shown in photo #12 using pliers to pinch jump ring closed.

Thread chain through jump rings (photo #13).
