GAUGE:
12 sts + 28 rows = about 4 in. (10 cm) in Basketweave pattern. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles. Making a Gauge Swatch
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.

NOTES:
1. Follow loom manual instructions for SINGLE KNITTING for how to cast on, knit, purl, and bind off.
2. The Throw is worked in one piece.

A border pattern is worked on the first and last 6 rows and on the first and last 5 stitches of all other rows.

Between the border stitches, 5 blocks of 18 stitches each are worked using different stitches to create the Basketweave pattern.
3. The loom is configured into a straight line with a 28-hole semi-circle piece placed on either end for stability.
4. Contrast color pegs are used to indicate where the pattern stitch changes.
5. Finished Throw is blocked by machine washing and drying.

INSTRUCTIONS

THROW
Loom Configuration
Use the following pieces: (2) 28-hole semi-circle pieces, (2) 36-hole pieces and (2) 12-hole pieces.
Connect pieces as follows: 28-hole semi-circle piece > 12-hole piece > 36-hole piece > 36-hole piece > 12-hole piece > 28-hole semi-circle piece.

Insert 96 small pegs into every hole along 36-hole and 12-hole pieces.

Insert 2 small pegs in semi-circle piece at each end - 100 working pegs placed.

To show where the pattern stitch changes, counting from left to right, replace the 5th, 23rd, 41st, 59th, 77th, and 95th pegs with contrast color small pegs.
Note: When working from left to right, each contrast color peg holds the last stitch of the current stitch pattern, reminding you to change pattern after working the contrast color peg.

When working from right to left, each contrast color peg holds the first stitch of the next stitch pattern, reminding you to change pattern at the contrast color peg.
