GAUGE:
17 sts + 24 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS) using larger needles. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles. Making a Gauge Swatch
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.

STITCH EXPLANATION:
kfb (knit in front and back) Knit next st without removing it from left needle, then k through back of same st - 1 st increased.

ssk (slip, slip, knit) Slip next 2 sts as if to knit, one at a time, to right needle; insert left needle into fronts of these 2 sts and knit them together - 1 st decreased.

PATTERN STITCH K2, p2 Rib (multiple of 4 sts + 2) Row 1: K2, *p2, k2; rep from * across.

Row 2: K the knit sts and p the purl sts.

Rep Row 2 for K2, p2 Rib.

NOTES:
1.

When you see 'work even' in the instructions, this means to continue on in the pattern st you have established without changing the st count by increasing, decreasing, or binding off.

2.

This design includes the instruction to work AT THE SAME TIME.

This means you should read ahead in the pattern before proceeding.
