Additional Materials
Circular knitting needle size 6 (4 mm), 36 in. (91.5 cm) long
GAUGE:
One square = 3 x 3 in. (7.5 x 7.5 cm). When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles. Making a Gauge Swatch
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.

STITCH EXPLANATION:
M1 (make 1) An increase worked by lifting the horizontal strand lying between needles and placing it onto the left needle.

Knit this new stitch through the back loop – 1 st increased.

NOTES:
1.

Blanket is made up of 108 joined Squares worked in columns.

2.

Square 1 is worked, then additional Squares are added by picking up stitches across edges of previous Squares.

3.

Squares are added above Square 1 to make a total of 12 Squares for Column 1.

Columns 2-9 are then worked, joining each to the previous Column.

4.

Squares are worked diagonally, decreasing along a center line until just one st remains.

5.

Refer to the Diagram to get a sense of how the Blanket is put together.

6.

Each Square changes color following a Stripe Sequence.

7.

Borders are picked up along each side of the Blanket, using a circular needle to accommodate the large number of sts.
