GAUGE:
14 sts + 28 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in Garter st (k every row). When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles. Making a Gauge Swatch
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.

NOTES:
1.

Afghan is worked in a modular fashion.

Square 1, for the lower right hand corner is worked first.

Progressively smaller Squares are added until you finish at upper left corner of Afghan.

2.

Sts are picked up across edges of previous Squares to beg each new Square.

3.

Each Square is worked back and forth in rows, with a decrease worked on every other row to form the miter.

4.

Afghan is worked following Assembly Diagram.
