GAUGE:
22 sts + 24 rows = about 4 in. (10 cm) in pattern. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles. Making a Gauge Swatch
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.

STITCH EXPLANATION:
3/3 RC (3 over 3 right cross) Slip 3 sts to cable needle and hold in back, k3, then k3 from cable needle.

NOTES:
1.

Scarf can be worked by reading the written instructions or by following the Chart.

If following the Chart, read from right to left on odd-numbered rows and from left to right on even-numbered rows.

2.

4 rows of Seed st are worked at the beg and end of Scarf for lower and top borders.

In body of Scarf, 4-st Seed st borders are worked at the beg and end of each row and a reversible cable pattern is worked between the borders.

Markers are used to separate border and reversible cable sts.

Slip markers as you come to them.

Use of markers is optional.

3.

Scarf can be worked to any desired length by repeating Rows 5-12 more or fewer times.

A longer Scarf will require more yarn.
