STITCH EXPLANATION:

M1 (make 1) An increase worked by lifting the horizontal strand lying between needles and placing it onto left needle. Knit this new stitch through the back loop – 1 st increased.

COLLAR Cast on 65 sts. Row 1: K3, M1, k to last 3 sts, M1, k3 - 67 sts. Rows 2-4: Rep Row 1 - 73 sts at the end of Row 4. Row 5: K3, p to last 3 sts, k3. Row 6 (Decrease Row): K7* k2tog, k12; rep from * to last 10 sts, k2tog, k8 - 68 sts. Row 7: K3, p to last 3 sts, k3. Row 8: Knit. Row 9: K3, p to last 3 sts, k3. Row 10 (Decrease Row): K6, *k2tog, k11; rep from * to last 9 sts, k2tog, k7 - 62 sts. Row 11: K3, p to last 3 sts, k3. Row 12: Knit. Row 13: K3, p to last 3 sts, k3. Row 14 (Decrease Row): K5, *k2tog, k8; rep from * to last 7 sts, k2tog, k5 - 56 sts. Row 15: K3, p to last 3 sts, k3. Row 16 (Decrease Row): K5, *k2tog, k7; rep from * to last 6 sts, k2tog, k4 - 50 sts. Row 17: Knit. Bind off.
FINISHING Buttonloop With crochet hook, join yarn with a slip stitch at top right edge of collar. Ch 4, sl st in same st as join for buttonloop. Sew button to top of left edge, opposite buttonloop. Weave in ends.
