GAUGE:
Square 1 = 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 in. (8.5 x 8.5 cm). When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles. Making a Gauge Swatch
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.

NOTES:
1.

6 Squares are made, then sewed together to make a ring.

2.

Top of Hat is worked around top of joined Squares.

3.

The color is changed on every round of each Square.

Change color by fastening off old color and drawing up a loop of new color in a corner ch-2 space.
