Additional Materials
Circular knitting needle size 13 (9 mm), 16 in. (40.5 cm) long
GAUGE:
8 sts + 18 rnds = about 4 in. (10 cm) in Garter st worked in the rnd (k one rnd, p one rnd) with A. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles. Making a Gauge Swatch
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.

STITCH EXPLANATION:
pfb (purl into front and then back) An increase worked as follows: 1.

Purl the next st through the front loop, but do not remove the st from your left hand needle.

2.

Purl the same st once more, this time inserting your needle through the back loop of the st.

You will have created 2 loops (sts) on your right hand needle.

3.

Drop the st from your left hand needle - you have increased 1 st.

NOTES:
1.

Poncho is worked in rnds, beg at neck, in a stripe pattern.

2.

When working stripes, carry color not in use along WS of work.

3.

Change to longer circular needle when sts have been sufficiently increased.
