Additional Materials
Crochet hook size D-3 (3.25 mm) Magnetic snap closure Sewing needle and thread
20 sts + 16 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in pattern. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles. Making a Gauge Swatch
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.

Tr2togBelow (Yarn over) twice, insert hook in same ch-1 sp as last tr worked 2 rows below, and draw up a loop, pull up to be even with working row, (yarn over and draw through 2 loops) twice.

Skip 3 sts.

(Yarn over) twice, insert hook in next ch-1 sp 2 rows below and draw up a loop, pull up to be even with working row, (yarn over, draw through 2 loops) twice, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook.

To change color, work last st of old color to last yarn over.

Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops to complete st.

Carry color not in use up side of piece.

Clutch is worked with a small hook to achieve a tight gauge, suitable for this project.
