Additional Materials
Circular needle size 9 (6.5 mm), 40 in. (101.5 cm) long
GAUGE:
16 sts + 20 rnds = about 4 in. (10 cm) in St st worked in rnds (k every rnd). When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles. Making a Gauge Swatch
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

PATTERN STITCHES K1, p1 Rib worked in rnds (over an even number of sts) Rnd 1: *K1, p1; rep from * to end of rnd.

Rep Rnd 1 for K1, p1 Rib worked in rnds.

Stranded Color Pattern worked in rnds (over a multiple of 6 sts) Work Stranded Color pattern by working with A while carrying a strand of B.

Pattern is created by moving B to front or back of work between sts when instructed.

Rnds 1-4: With A and *holding B in back of work, k3, holding B in front of work, k3; rep from * to end of rnd.

Rnd 5: *K3 wBif, k3 wBib; rep from * to end of rnd.

Rnds 15-18: Knit with A only.

Rep Rnds 1-18 for Stranded Color pattern.

NOTES:
1.

Oversized Tunic is designed with an easy to work color pattern.

2.

Tunic is worked in one piece in rnds beg at lower edge, then divided at neck and worked back and forth in rows to shape a V-neck.

Piece is divided again at armholes and fronts and back worked separately.

3.

After a ribbed lower band is worked, the Tunic is worked in St st.

St st is worked in rnds (k every rnd) to first divide, then St st is worked in rows (k on RS, p on WS) for remainder of piece.

4.

All knitting is worked with A.

B is 'woven' back and forth between the stitches to create the Stranded Color pattern.

When instructed to bring B to the front, bring B between the needles to the front of the piece.

When instructed to take B to the back, take B between the needles to the back of the piece.

Carry B strand below A strand and keep an even tension on the carried strand.

5.

When you see 'as established' in the instructions, this means to continue in the current pattern st ensuring that A-colored sts and weaving of B line up as in previous rows/rnds.

6.

Sts are picked up to work ribbing around the neck and armholes.
