SCARF Gently wind each hank into a ball.
Pull out the end of yarn on one ball, and examine the construction before beginning.
You will see that the yarn is a tube that has 'stitches' like a knitted fabric.
You will be crocheting into those 'stitches'.
Fold over the end of the yarn from the first ball for about 1 in.
The only crochet stitch you will need to use for this Scarf is the slip stitch! Close to the top edge at the folded end of the yarn, insert your hook through the yarn and then bring it back out to create a loop on your hook.
Insert hook in and draw it back out a short distance about 1 in.
(2.5 cm) away to make a 2nd loop on your hook.
Draw this 2nd loop through the first - this is the first slip stitch and you now have just one loop on your hook.
Continue to slip stitch all along the top edge of the yarn, being sure to keep the yarn flat so that you're always working along the same edge.
You can work your slip stitches as described above, or you can simply insert your hook through the top edge of yarn to make the next loop on your hook.
As you continue to slip stitch, you'll see the ruffle developing.
Keep slip stitching until you reach the end of the first ball of yarn.
Turn your work, so that you are ready to work back across the slip stitches.
Insert your hook into the first slip stitch, then through the fabric of the 2nd ball to draw a loop from the 2nd ball through the slip stitch.Continue to insert your hook into the next slip stitch, then into the fabric of the 2nd ball of yarn until you reach the end of the 2nd ball of yarn.
Draw the end of the 2nd ball through the last loop on your hook to fasten off.
FINISHING With sewing thread and needle, sew yarn ends to the fabric of the Scarf.
