GAUGE:
One Granny Square = 6 1/2 x 6 1/2 in. (16.5 x 16.5 cm). When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles. Making a Gauge Swatch
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.

NOTES:
1.

Three Granny Squares are worked with each joined to the previous Square to create a circle of Squares.

2.

If you prefer not to join as you work, make Second and Third Granny Squares as separate Squares by following the instructions for the First Granny Square and simply changing the colors.

Then sew the 3 Squares into a ring.

3.

Top of Cap is worked in joined rnds beg around one edge of the circle of Squares.
