GAUGE:
One Block = about 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 in. (11 x 11 cm). When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles. Making a Gauge Swatch
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.

NOTES:
1.

Afghan is made from 111 Blocks.

The majority of the Blocks are joined to previous Blocks as you work.

2.

Blocks are worked across columns, one after the other.

The next Block in each column begins across the top of the previous Block in that column and is joined to a side edge of the corresponding Block in the previous column.

3.

Refer to the diagram for colors and arrangement of Blocks.

4.

A border is worked around the outside edge of the completed Afghan.
