Lacy 26 sts = 4 in. (10 cm) Rib 18 sts = 4 in. (10 cm) Plain Jane 28 sts = 4 in. (10 cm) When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles. Making a Gauge Swatch
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.

All rounds = K1, p1 around.

Note: You may want to use Garter st worked in the rnd (k 1 rnd, p 1 rnd) for the first 8-10 cuff rnds to prevent the Plain Jane Wrister from rolling.

You may also do this when the wrister measures about 6 in.

(15 cm) from beg.

Please note that the yarn in this pattern was hand-dyed with Kool-Aid to get the various colors shown.

For more information, please refer to Michelle Edwards' illustrated story, Knitting Spring.
