GAUGE:
9 stitches by 12 rows = 4 inches in pattern BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.
INSTRUCTIONS
HATCast on 48 stitches, place marker and join to knit in the round, taking care not to twist stitches.Rounds 1, 2 & 4: *p2, k2; repeat from *Round 3: *p2, k2tog but do not drop stitches off left hand needle, knit the first stitch again, then drop both; repeat from *Repeat Rows 1-4 until the piece measures 7.5 inches in length.
Decrease Crown:Round 1: *p2, k2tog; repeat from *Round 2: *p2tog, k1; repeat from *Round 3: *k2tog; repeat from *Finishing Cut working yarn, leaving a 6‐inch tail.
Draw the tail through the remaining stitches, cinch closed and secure.
Weave in ends.
