Rnd 1 should measure 3¼" x 3¼" (8.25 cm) using larger hook and 2 strands of Homespun.
8 sts = 4" (10 cm); 4 rnds border = 4½" with smaller hook and 1 strand Chenille Thick & Quick. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. Big Granny Square Afghan Reviewed by Beverly Stanfield on 2010-11-26
I made this afghan as a birthday gift for my dad. He loved it, and I really like the way it turned out, too. The yarn is so nice and soft (Homespun and Quick & Thick Chenille). It took me about 3 weeks (on and off) to make it, but I thought it was pretty easy to make.
Thanks again for the free pattern!
