GAUGE:
10 sc + 12.5 rows = 4" (10 cm) with larger hook. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Strip 1 (make 5)
With larger hook and A, ch 12.
Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across - 11 sc.
Ch 1 , turn; work 9 more rows sc with A.
Cont in sc, change colors after every 10th row in the following color sequence: (B, C, B, A, C, B, C, A) twice.
Fasten off.
Strip 2 (make 4)
Work same as Strip 1 until1 0 rows A have been completed.
Cont in sc, change colors after every 10th row in the following color sequence: (C, B, C, A, B, C, B, A) twice.
Fasten off.
Sew strips together in the following sequence:

FINISHING
Side strips
With smaller hook and A, sc evenly across long edge of afghan.
Ch 1, turn.

Ch 1, turn.
