GAUGE:
Gauge is not important to this scarf When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles. Making a Gauge Swatch
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.

NOTES:
Scarf is made with 3 strands, one of each color, held together throughout.

INSTRUCTIONS

SCARF
With one strand of each color held together, make a slip knot and place on hook and chain 2.

Single crochet in 2nd chain from hook; chain 1, turn.

Increase Rows

Row 1 Work 2 single crochets in single crochet; chain 1, turn - 2 stitches.

Row 2 Work 2 single crochets in first single crochet, single crochet in next single crochet; chain 1, turn - 3 stitches.

Row 3 Work 2 single crochets in first single crochet, single crochet in each of the remaining single crochets in row; chain 1, turn - 4 stitches.

Repeat Row 3 until there are 6 stitches.

When there are 6 stitches, work even (no increases, no decreases) in single crochet on those stitches until desired length or until there are about five yards left of each color.

Decrease Rows

Row 1 To decrease, insert hook in first stitch, yarn over hook, pull up a look, insert hook into next stitch, yarn over hook and pull up a loop - 3 loops on hook - yarn over hook and pull through all 3 loops; this is a single crochet 2 together.

Single crochet in each of the remaining stitches in row - 5 stitches.

Repeat Decrease Row 1 until one stitch remains.

Pull yarn tails through loop and weave in ends.
