GAUGE:
10 sc = 4 inches (10 cm); each square measures 8 inches x 8 inches. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

AFGHAN (made up of 35 squares)
SQUARE Using MC, ch 21. Row 1 Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across (20 sc). Row 2 Ch 1, turn. Sc in each sc across. Rep Row 2 for 5 inches. Change to CC and work for 3 inches more. Fasten off.
FINISHING
Sew squares tog invisibly as per ASSEMBLY DIAGRAM below.
BORDER
With MC, attach yarn in any corner. Work in sc for 2 rnds, working 3 sc in each corner each rnd.

It wasn't quit the size I wanted so, I ended up adding another row on the bottom and two on the side. Turned out really nice. It was a present for my daughter's wedding. She loved it. Really easy and quick to do. I used Cream and Prairie of the Homespun.
