GAUGE:

3 shells and 5 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in pattern. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Groovy Granny Poncho Reviewed by Kathy on 2010-01-08 *****
I have made 3 of these ponchos so far. LOVE IT! Love the pattern! Very easy, excellent choice for beginners.
I made it for my twin daughters and let them pick out their colors and I made a solid color for my sister. I added a couple rows for my sister's to add lengh.
This is a good pattern for busy mom's, etc...because the directions are pretty simple and do not require undivided attention. Yippee!
