10 sts = 4" [10 cm] BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.
LOOP STITCHStep 1 Using the index finger on the left hand to control the lp size (which should be approximately 1 1/2"), hold yarn over finger 1 1/2" behind work; insert the hook in st, hook both strands of lp just made, draw these strands through st.
Wrap the supply yarn over the hook (yo).
Draw through all lps on hook-1 lp st made.
Loop Stitch (lp st) is a variation of single crochet (sc) and is worked on the wrong-side rows because the lps form at the back of the fabric.
Editor’s Note: When creating fringe using Homespun please note that because of the texture of the yarn the fringe will fray when cut.
If you prefer a non-frayed look you can knot the ends, knit or crochet a fringe, or use hairspray or fray check.

LOOP FRINGE EDGING (make 2)
