4 V-sts + 5 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in V-st pattern. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.
V-Stitch (Dc, ch 1, dc) in same stitch.
Blanket is worked from side to side.
Row 1 (Dc, ch 1, dc) in 5th ch from hook, [skip 2 ch, work V-st in next ch] across to last 2 ch, skip 1 ch, dc in last ch - 28 V-sts and dc at each end of row.
Row 2 Ch 3, turn; work V-st in each ch1-space across, end dc in top of turning chain.
