GAUGE: Gauge will vary with yarn and needle size selected. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

This was my first attempt at crocheting a purse. I've mostly been involved with afghans. But I found it so easy and quick that I crocheted at least 10 of these handy little bags and donated them to my senior center as prizes during one of our Mother's Day parties a year or two ago. They were very popular and I have since attempted a couple of other free purse crochet patterns, all of which have been completed with pleasing results. Thank you for the opportunity to enchance my skills. Theresa Barbus,
