GAUGE:

12 sts + 3 rows = 4 inches [10 cm] in pattern. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Ch 22.

Row 1 (Right Side) (Tr, ch 1, tr, ch 1, tr) in 7th ch from hook, skip next 2 ch, tr in next ch, *skip next 2 ch, (tr, ch 1, tr, ch 1, tr) in next ch, skip next 2 ch, tr in next ch; repeat from * once; turn – 19 sts.

Row 2 Ch 5, tr in first tr, skip next tr, tr in next tr, *skip next tr, (tr, ch 1, tr, ch 1, tr) in next tr, skip next tr, tr in next tr; repeat from * once, skip next tr, (tr, ch 1, tr) in top of turning ch; turn.

Row 3 Ch 4, *skip next tr, (tr, ch 1, tr, ch 1, tr) in next tr, skip next tr, tr in next tr; repeat from * across, ending with tr in top of turning ch; turn.

Repeat Rows 2-3 until piece measures 80" [203 cm] from beginning. Fasten off. Weave in ends.

FRINGE

Cut yarn into 12" [30.5 cm] strands. Use 3 strands for each Fringe. Fold strands in half and, with crochet hook, pull fold through Scarf, forming a loop. Pull ends of fringe through this loop. Pull to tighten. Attach 11 fringes across each short edge of Scarf.
