Very Easy Ripple Shawl

Lion Brand® Microspun

GAUGE:

15 sts and 8 rows = 4 inches with size H (5mm) crochet hook.

BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

NOTES:

• Chain 2 at end of each row counts as 1 dc.

SHAWL [worked over a multiple of 11 sts + 1 extra st]

Chain 91

Row 1 1 dc in 3rd ch from hook, dc in next 4 ch, skip next 2 ch, dc in next 4 ch; *3 dc in ch, dc in next 4 ch, skip next 2 ch, dc in next 4 ch; repeat from * to last ch, 2 dc in last ch. Ch 2, turn.

Row 2 1 dc in first dc, dc in next 4 dc, skip next 2 dc, dc in next 4 dc, *3 dc in next dc, dc in next 4 dc, skip next 2 dc, dc in next 4 dc; repeat from * to last dc, 2 dc in turning chain. Ch 2, turn.

Rep row 2 until piece measures 60 inches from beg. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Very Easy Ripple Shawl Reviewed by Karen Purtell on 2012-02-21 ****
I made this and at first I had a terrible time starting it. I didn't realize there were supposed to be six dc at the beginning of each row and six dc at the very end of each row. After that it was very easy. I would recommend keeping a close eye on your stitches. I didn't realize I had made a mistake until I was almost 3/4 of the way done. I had to take it apart and redo those parts because as it turns out I had made several mistakes along the way. I am very glad I tried this pattern. It turned out very nicely.
