GAUGE:
14 sts = 4 inches (10 cm) BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
AFGHAN (multiple of 2 + 1 t-ch)
Ch 129, with MC. Row 1 (RS) Sc into 2nd ch from hook, ch1, skip 1 ch, *sc in next ch, ch 1, skip 1 ch; rep from *, end 1 sc into each of last 2 ch. Row 2 Ch1, turn. Sc into first sc, ch 1, skip next sc, * sc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, skip next sc; rep from *, end sc in last ch1- sp, sc in last sc.
Rep Row 2 for pattern in following color sequence: *MC, 8 rows; (CC, 2 rows; MC, 2 rows) 2 times; CC, 8 rows; (MC, 2 rows; CC, 2 rows) 2 times; rep from * 6 times, end MC, 8 rows.
BORDER
Join CC with slip st at corner and work 3 rnds of sc, skipping the thin stripes of MC, working 3 sc in each corner, each rnd.
EDGING Rnd 1(CC) Ch 3, 2 dc in same space,*skip 2 sc, sc in next sc, skip 2 sc, 5 dc in next sc; rep from *, skip 2 sc, 1 sc in next sp, skip 2 sc, 2 dc in next sc, sl st to top of beg ch (adjust sts as needed). Fasten off. Rnd 2 With MC, join with sc in sl st,*ch 3, dc5tog as follows: wrap yarn around hook, insert hook into next dc, wrap yarn, draw lp through, wrap yarn and draw through 2 lps on hook (2 lps left on hook); rep this step into next dc (3 lps on hook); rep this step into next sc and next 2 dc (6 lps on hook) wrap yarn and draw through all lps on hook to complete, ch 3, 1 sc into next dc; rep from * end last rep, sl st to first sc. Fasten off.

Thrilled with this pattern. Made it for my father and now all my siblings want one. Goes quick and looks nice, the yarn gets softer with use. So versatile with the colors, so many combinations can be done. Love it!
