Lion Brand® Wool-Ease®
GAUGE: 15 stitches = 4 inches [10 cm]; 8 rows = 3 inches [7.5 cm] in hdc.
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you less stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

I just finished making my first one of these, and they are wonderfully easy to make...great for beginners! Be sure to check your gauge...also be aware of how long you make them, lol. They're so easy that it's not hard to lose track of how long you're making them!
HINT: I took measurements of my son from neck to knee first, that way I could be sure it wouldn't be too long. I'd suggest in younger children that they only be neck to waist (including fringe) for safety reasons.
