GAUGE:
8 stitches+ 12 rows = 4" (10 cm) in single crochet. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you less stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

INSTRUCTIONS



PURSE Chain 27. Row 1 Working into second chain from hook, work 26 single crochet, chain 1, turn work. Work each row in single crochet until piece measures 18" from the beginning. Buttonloop Row Work across to 13th single crochet, chain 8, insert hook into next single crochet and work across to end. Fasten off. Finishing Fold piece in half and sew or crochet side seams. STRAP Make a chain 36" long. Attach strap to side seams at top of purse. Weave in loose ends and sew on button.
