GAUGE:

About 24 single crochet = 4" [10 cm] BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you less stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

NOTES:

Rounds are not joined but are worked in a spiral. Place a marker in the first stitch of the second round to mark the beginning of the round. Remove the marker when working the first single crochet of each round, and replace it immediately into the stitch you just made.

Finishing
Stuff the head, body, legs, arms, snout, and tail with polyfill. Lining up the slip stitches of each piece, whipstitch the head and body together using the long tail from the head, keeping the stitches matched up. Position the legs and arms as desired, and sew them to the body using the long tail of each leg. Sew on the tail so that it helps to prop the bear up in a stable sitting position. Position the snout so that the top is about halfway up the head and shape it so that it's wider across than it is tall, and sew it to the head using the yarn tail. Sew one eye on either side of the snout. Sew the nose onto the snout.
