Exact gauge is not essential to this project.

BASIC BAG

With 2 strands of yarn held together, cast on 15 sts. Work in garter st (knit every row) until piece measures 9-1/2 inches [24 cm].
Next row K 6, bind off next 3 sts [buttonhole], k to end of row.
Next row Knit, casting on 3 sts over bound-off sts of previous row. Bind off. Weave in ends.

Finishing
Fold up 4 inches [10cm] end of bag opposite buttonhole, and sew side seams. Sew button under buttonhole

I made these for all the girls in my family, and all the girls I work with.I made about 40 of them. They stitch up really fast. I also used a 3/4" rhinestone button, makes it very girly! They are the perfect size for a digital camera case. They were a big hit for xmas.
