GAUGE:
9 stitches by 12 rows = 4 inches in pattern BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.
STITCH EXPLANATION:
s1pw: slip 1 stitch purlwise (holding yarn in back, as if to knit)
INSTRUCTIONS
HATCast on 48 stitches, place marker and join, taking care not to twist stitches.Work Pattern:Row 1: *k1, s1pw, k1, yo, pass slipped stitch over the k1 and the yo, k1*; repeat aroundRow 2: knit all stitchesRepeat Rows 1 and 2 until the piece measures 7.5 inches in length.
End on a Row 2.Decrease Crown:Row 1: *k2, k2tog; repeat from *Row 2: *k1, k2tog; repeat from *Row 3: *k2tog; repeat from *FinishingCut working yarn, leaving a 6‐inch tail.
Draw the tail through the remaining stitches, cinch closed and secure.
Weave in ends and enjoy.
