GAUGE:
6 stitches = 4 inches [10 cm] in garter stitch (knit every row) BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you less stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.

NOTES:
Scarf is made with 4 strands held together throughout. For the purple, use 2 strands of violet, one of sapphire and one of black. For the gold, use 2 strands of bright yellow, one of tangerine and one of copper.


INSTRUCTIONS



SCARF With one strand of each (A) color held together, cast on 8 stitches. Knit 8 rows. *Change to all 4 strands of B and knit 8 rows; change to 4 strands of A and knit 8 rows. Repeat from * 4 more times - 11 stripes total. Bind off. Weave in ends.
