GAUGE:
9 sts + 12 rows = 4" (10 cm) in Pattern. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:
Work with 2 strands of yarns held together in pattern stitch sequence.

COLOR SEQUENCE

Work 4 rows for each stripe
Stripe 1 A and H
Stripe 2 D and I
Stripe 3 F and L
Stripe 4 B and J
Stripe 5 E and K
Stripe 6 C and H
Stripe 7 D and I
Stripe 8 Two strands of G
Stripe 9 C and J
Stripe 10 F and L

PATTERN 1 (multiple of 16 + 1)

Row 1 (RS) K 1, *yo, k 6, (slip 2 tog as if to knit, k 1, p2sso), k 6, yo, k 1; rep from * across.
Row 2 Purl.
Row 3 Same as Row 1.
Row 4 Purl.

PATTERN 2

Rows 1-4 Knit.

NOTES:
Editor's Note: When creating fringe using Homespun please note that because of the texture of the yarn the fringe will fray when cut.

If you prefer a non-frayed look you can knot the ends, knit or crochet a fringe, or use hairspray or fray check.

INSTRUCTIONS

THROW
Beginning with Color Stripe 1, cast on 97 sts and knit 3 rows.

With Color Stripe 2, begin Pattern 1.

Continue working in Color Sequence Stripes alternating Pattern 1 and Pattern 2.

Work Color Sequence 4 times.

Knit 3 rows with Color Stripe 1.

Bind off all sts loosely.

FINISHING
With all yarns, cut strands 18" long.

Mix and match 18 strands for each fringe and attach to tip and base of each point at either end of throw - 26 total.
