Additional Materials
- Size 8 [5 mm] 24 in. [60 cm] circular needles - Size 8 [5 mm] 40 in. [100 cm] circular needles or size needed to obtain gauge - Size 6 [4 mm] 16 in. [40 cm] circular needles
GAUGE:
14 sts + 23 rnds = 4" [10 cm] in Stockinette st (knit every rnd) on larger needle. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles. Making a Gauge Swatch
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.

STITCH EXPLANATION:
M1 (make 1 st) An increase worked by lifting the horizontal thread lying between the needles and placing it onto the left needle.

Work this new stitch through the back loop.

NOTES:
Poncho is knit from neck to bottom edge.

Change to longer circular needles when needed.

Between Rnds 66 and 87, and Rnds 123 and 145, length of poncho is increased a different amount for each size.
