Repeat Rnds 1-2 for 4 more times – 96 sts. Purl 1 rnd.Decrease Rnds Note Change to dpn as necessary. Rnd 1 Knit. Rnd 2 *Knit to 2 sts before marker, k2tog, slip marker; repeat from * to end of rnd – 90 sts. Repeat Rnds 1-2 for 13 more times – 12 sts.Next Rnd *K2tog; repeat from * to end of rnd – 6 sts. Cut yarn leaving a 6 inches [15 cm] tail. Thread tail through remaining sts. Fasten off. Weave in ends.POMPOM Cut a 3 inches [7.5 cm] strip of cardboard. Wrap yarn around cardboard – the more wraps, the fuller Pompom will be. Cut yarn leading to skein and carefully slide yarn off cardboard. Cut a long piece of yarn and double it; carefully slide it under the center of the yarn and tie tightly with a double knot. Clip the loops, fluff out Pompom, and trim. Use the ends of the knotted strand to attach Pompom to top of Beret.
