GAUGE:

14 sts + 18 rows = 4" (10 cm) with larger needles in St st (k on RS, p on WS). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

ssk (slip, slip, knit) Slip the next 2 sts as if to knit, one at a time, to the right needle; insert the left needle into the fronts of these 2 sts and k them tog.

STITCH PATTERN

Row 1 (WS)
*P 2, k 2; rep from * across, end p 2.
Row 2 (RS) *K 2, p 2; rep from * across, end k 2.
Repeat Rows 1 and 2 for pattern.

Striped Pullover Sweater Reviewed by Casey on 2008-10-16 ****
This was my first adult sweater. I didn't like the striped pattern so I changed it up. I used red for the top part of the sweater and black and gray on the bottom striping to add some youthfulness. Very impressive looking when completed, and pretty easy. I had a little difficulty with the collar (not sure what I did wrong) but I had to sinch it up a bit so it would lay down flat. It is very warm sweater if that is what you want. I would suggest you use a size up than required to make sure it fits.
