SOCKS With MC and dpns, cast on 16 (20, 24) sts; divide sts evenly on as evenly as possible onto 3 dpns, as follows: For Children's M, put 5 sts onto the first dpn, 5 sts onto the second dpn and 6 sts onto the third dpn. For Adult's M, put 7 sts onto the first dpn, 7 sts onto the second dpn and 6 sts onto the third dpn. For Adult's L, put 8 sts onto each of the three dpn. Note: When knitting in the round on dpn, your sts do need to be divided fairly evenly onto the needles. If you are working with a set of 4 dpn, your sts should be divided among 3 needles. If you are working with a set of 5 dpn, your sts should be divided among 4 needles. The total number of sts will not always be evenly divisible by the number of dpns that you are using - this is not a problem! Additional Materials
Size 13 set of double-pointed needles (dpns)
GAUGE:
8 sts + 12 rows = 4" (10 cm) in St st (k every round or k on RS, p on WS when knitting flat). When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles. Making a Gauge Swatch
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.

STITCH EXPLANATION:
ssk (slip, slip, knit) Slip next 2 sts as if to knit, one at a time, to right needle; insert left needle into fronts of these 2 sts and k them tog.

NOTES:
Always pick up new color from under dropped color to avoid a hole.

Color not in use can be carried up sock, taking care not to pull float too tight.
